here´s to your high expectations
here comes the weekend again
more temporary sensations
more hungry women and men
the same procedure as last week
hopefully happier though
plastic parades down on mean street
barbie dolls ready to do

some things are stranger than fiction
some are more cruel as well
it all confirms my conviction
there is a highway to hell
but there´s no stairway to heaven
there is a long, winding road
there is a check point at calvary
where you´ll get rid of your load

friday
this town is at ease now
fixing to get all those kicks
no longer dreaming of peace now
building their towers of bricks
meanwhile we stand aside watching
or maybe closing our eyes
people here would say we´re crazy
