Children at the Edge of the Horizon
Children learn early
that the world ends where the light bends,
where fireflies hide their little hearts
in the bushes along the horizon.
So they climb the slopes,
contemplate the concave line of light,
and a quiet thought drives them forward:
they must reach that place,
where a name becomes a homeland.
And children aim for it,
as if their roots were hidden at the edge of the light.
Many still grow up hearing
that beyond the horizon lies the land they came from
and the place they must return to.
Just like Luca,
who searched for friends in the promised land,
every child carries a map in his heart
drawn from sunlight, hope, and secret dreams.
